Police allege that a western Michigan man  drove 11 hours and 730 miles to Pennsylvania to set fire of a home of a man who had been communicating with his  ex-girlfriend, Fox 2 reports.

Harrison Jones, of Rockford, about 15 miles outside of Grand Rapids, now faces six counts of attempted homicide, arson, and risking catastrophe, among other charges.

According to Bensalem Township police, first responders came to the  home in the 5200 block of Merganser Way just after 5:20 a.m. on Feb. 10 because of a fire.

William McVey, the director of Bensalem Township Public Safety, said someone was awake inside the home and heard noise before the fire.

"We've also learned that the mother of the house had heard noises coming from downstairs. She got out to check her residence and sees a male subject walking down the steps. She believed that that was her son at the time, which we determined later it was not," he said. "So, she went back to the bedroom, continued to hear those noises, and went downstairs."

She then got five others out of the house. They all suffered smoke inhalation. Two dogs were killed, Fox 2 reports.

Police were able to track down the suspect with the help of a neighbor's home security system and an intersection camera that read the license plate, Fox 2 reports.
